AROMATIC POLYURETHANE COATING

This Material requires a minimum truckload purchase. Use Product # 467 instead for smaller quantities.

EPOXYSYSTEMS PRODUCT #451 is an aromatic, liquid applied, single-component, moisture cured polyurethane floor coating for use in indoor applications such as industrial plants, mechanical rooms, and locations where surfaces must withstand pedestrian traffic.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Composition: A single component, aromatic based , moisture-cured polyurethane coating.

Basic Uses: EPOXYSYSTEMS PRODUCT #451 is primarily used as a protective top coat of the ELASTO-DECK 5000 M.R. deck coating system. It may also be used as a durable finish that protects interior floors against occasional chemical spillage, dirt, grease and oils. EPOXYSYSTEMS PRODUCT #451 gives floors a well maintained look while retaining a glossy appearance. Dusting of concrete floors is minimized when the surface is sealed with EPOXYSYSTEMS PRODUCT #451. EPOXYSYSTEMS PRODUCT #451 is intended for interior applications only. Coating will discolor if exposed to sunlight.

Limitations: Containers that have been opened must be used up within one or two days since it is a moisture-reactive material. It sets up when exposed to air.

Colors: Concrete Grey, Tan

Sizes: Available in 1 gallon cans, 5 gallon pails and 55 gallon drums.

INSTALLATION

Surface Preparation: EPOXYSYSTEMS PRODUCT #451 may only be applied to dry, clean surfaces. It is recommended to prepare concrete floors by acid-etching or sandblasting. EpoxySystems Product #889 Concrete Primer or EpoxySystems Product #888 Epoxy Concrete Primer may be required prior to applying EPOXYSYSTEMS PRODUCT #451 depending on the concrete substrates condition. All oxidation and rust must be removed from metal surfaces and all metal must be primed with Epoxy.com Product #887 Metal Primer.

Application: EPOXYSYSTEMS PRODUCT #451 may be applied by all conventional means, including spray equipment, paint rollers, and brushes. The rate of application is typically 125 sq. ft. per gallon (3.06 m2/liter). Additional coats may be applied after an overnight cure. It is important not to wait for more than 24 hours before recoating if additional coats are desired. Allow a final cure time of 48 hours before the coating is exposed to traffic.

Caution: An appropriate aggregate, such as aluminum oxide, monterey sand, or other suitable anti-skid material, must be added to the final or next to last coat, in sufficient size and quantity to prevent the coating from being slippery.
