Epoxy.com Product # 453 ELASTOMERIC SLOPING MATERIAL This Material requires a minimum product purchase. Epoxy.com # 453 is a sloping system using an elastomeric binder adhesive mixed with aggregate for sloping decks, based on polyurethane elastomers. PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONComposition: Liquid-applied, single-component, water-cured, polyurethane binder adhesive. The Epoxy.com # 453 System consists of Epoxy.com # 453 binder adhesive, 50/50 blend of #0 & #1 sand, and a primer where necessary.Basic Uses: Epoxy.com # 453 is designed for sloping flat decks and ponding areas. Designed for use under the Epoxy Systems Flexible Deck Coating Systems.Limitations: Containers that have been opened must be used up within one or two days since this is a moisture reactive material.Color: WhiteSizes: Epoxy.com # 453 binder adhesive is available in 1-gallon cans, 5-gallon pails. Aggregate is sold in 100 lb. bags each.Weight: 10.6 lbs. per gallon.
WARNINGS AND HAZARDS Before using the products, always refer to MSDS for important warnings and safety information. Use only in areas with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapors. Keep away from heat and flame. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In the event of skin contact, remove immediately and wash with warm, soapy water. Wear suitable eye protection. Always wash hands before eating. INSTALLATION Surface Preparation: All surfaces that are to receive Epoxy.com # 453 shall be free of contamination such as water, curing compounds, paints, bond-breakers, hardeners and existing coatings. Except for non-moving shrinkage cracks, all other cracks and joints must be sealed with Epoxy.com # 910, a single-component, moisture-cured sealant manufactured by Epoxy Systems, Inc. All surfaces, where necessary, must be primed with Epoxy.com 888 Primer prior to application of the sloping material at a rate of 300 square feet per gallon, except for plywood in good condition.Application: Prior to application, Epoxy.com # 453 binder is mixed with 10% water using a jiffy mixer at low R.P.M.'s and then is mixed with a 50/50 blend of #0 & #1 sand. Blend for 3-5 minutes. The mixing ratio is 1 part Epoxy.com # 453 binder to 3 parts sand. Epoxy.com # 453 shall be applied to the primed (if necessary) surface with a 1/4" notch trowel, use downward pressure, distribute material to desired thickness or slope. Use a smooth trowel to finish profile of slope. Generally 24 hours is required to allow material to cure, although cure times will vary depending thickness. PRODUCT WARRANTY Satisfactory results depend not only upon quality products but also upon factors beyond our control; methods of application and site conditions are examples of such factors and can affect product performance. This warranty consequently extends only to products installed in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. It is the users responsibility to satisfy himself, by his own information and tests, of the suitability of the product for his own intended use; user assumes all risk and liability resulting from his use of the product. The substrate to which the product is applied must be sound structurally and otherwise.Structural or substrate failures or imperfections resulting in damage to or failure of the product are not covered by this warranty. Since the use of the product is beyond the control of the manufacturer, the manufacturer assumes no liability for misapplication and misuse of the product. This warranty does not cover consequential damages, nor does it cover the labor attendant to replacing product in the event of a product failure. The warranty only extends to replacement of the product itself. All products proven to be defective in manufacture will be replaced at no charge. Since the use of these products is beyond our control, we cannot accept damage in excess of the purchase price of these products.MAINTENANCE If Epoxy.com # 453 is damaged, it can be repaired by cleaning the surface with M.E.K. and recoating it with Epoxy.com # 453. Epoxy Systems™ Product Company ("ESI") warrants its products (when properly stored) for the period of time as follows: Epoxies, Product #315, Product #315BC, and Product #316 one (1) year; Polyesters, Methyl Methacrylates (normal) two (2) months and Polyurethanes Four (4) months; Power Tools and Equipment 90 days; Vinyl Esters, High Molecular Weight Methacrylates (HMMA) and all other resins (not specifically mentioned above) 30 days; hand tools (non-power tools) 30 days. ESI warrants that its products will be free of manufacturing defects and will be in conformity with published specifications when handled, stored, mixed and applied in accordance with recommendations of ESI. If any product fails to meet this warranty, the liability of ESI will be limited to replacement of any non-conforming material if notice of such non-conformity is given to ESI within the warranty period for the material (as indicated above), or within 1 year of the delivery of materials (whichever is sooner). ESI may in its discretion refund the price received by ESI in lieu of replacing the material. No customer, distributor, or representative of ESI is authorized to change or modify the published specifications of this warranty in any way. No one is authorized to make oral warranties on behalf of ESI. In order to obtain replacement or refund the customer must provide written notice containing full details of the non-conformity. ESI reserves the right to inspect the non-conforming material prior to replacement. EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESSED WARRANTY STATED ABOVE, THERE ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR PURPOSE. ESI'S OBLIGATION SHALL NOT EXTEND BEYOND THE OBLIGATIONS EXPRESSLY UNDERTAKEN ABOVE AND ESI SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE PURCHASER OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY LOSS, COST, EXPENSE, DAMAGE OR LIABILITY, WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT, OR FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
