A black, liquid applied, two-component, high solids, chemical cured, polyurethane coating designed to form a tough rubber membrane impervious to moisture.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Composition:
Polyurethane elastomer. A two-component system which does not depend on atmospheric moisture to cure.Basic Uses: Once cured, Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 allows expansion and contraction over a broad temperature range and maintains flexibility and waterproofing properties under continuous exposure to water above or below grade. Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 has a thixotropic consistency and may be used on vertical as well as horizontal surfaces. Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 waterproof membrane is intended for use on steel, wood, concrete, asphalt, tanks, ponds, roofs, foundations, etc.
Water Tanks: Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 has been used with outstanding success as a lining for potable water storage tanks. The Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 fills and covers the crack and because of its flexibility, allows them to move with changes in temperature. The product is firmly bonded to the substrate so water cannot flow underneath the lining as it does with sheet lining materials. Also used as a joint filler for applications in water storage and sewage treatment environments.
Advantages:
Applied by airless spray methods, brush, roller, squeegee or trowel.
Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 cuts cost of application by eliminating splicing, sealing tapes, adhesives and other labor consuming methods required when installing other conventional types of waterproofing systems.
The superior flexibility and elongation properties of
Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 allows expansion and contraction with the substrate without cracking or becoming brittle.
Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 has excellent abrasion
resistance for applications where there may be contact with floating debris.
May be applied over a variety of substrates including concrete, stone, brick, cement blocks, wood and metal.
Environmentally safe, complying with VOC standards.
Color : Black only.
Shelf life: 1 year in unopened containers.

SAFETY DATA
MAINTENANCE
If Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 is damaged, it can be repaired by cleaning the surface and recoating it with Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419.
Priming:
Epoxy.com Product #888 Primer is used to prime green concrete (more than seven day cure for normal structural concrete). It is also used to prime damp concrete, masonry, or wood surfaces on which the waterproofing membranes are to be applied, as well as on adequate cured and dry surfaces.Although Epoxy.com PRODUCT #888 PRIMER may be used on green concrete and damp surfaces, moisture may become trapped under the waterproofing membrane. This may result in blistering, particularly on warm, sunny days. Therefore, cover the membrane as soon as possible to minimize blistering. Blistering over 4" in diameter should be cut and patched with membrane.
Concrete: Utilizing Epoxy.com PRODUCT #888 PRIMER will allow the application of the Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 to be made on green concrete. Concrete must be free of any curing compounds or bond release agents. Existing concrete should be free from foreign matter, oil, greases, etc. Concrete sections shall require the removal of fins, ridges and other protrusions and patching of voids.
Remove oil and grease with a commercial grade alkaline cleaner; thoroughly rinse and dry.
Wood: All plywood to receive coating shall meet or exceed requirements for A-C plugged, exterior grade.
Metal: Metal surfaces shall be dry, clean, free of grease, oil, dirt, rust and corrosion. Other coatings and contaminants could effect bond of coating system.
Existing Coatings: In the case of an existing coating, it should be determined whether or not there will be compatibility and adhesion between the Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 and the existing coating system. This can be determined by applying a sample test patch to verify procedures for a successful application of the new coating system. If adhesion is proven to be poor, then removal of the existing coating is necessary.
Job Conditions: Install coating materials under conditions where all of the following conditions are met.
·
Concrete has not been treated with any substance which will adversely effect adhesion or performance.·
Rain is not expected within 8 hours of application.·
Surface temperatures at time of application are above 40F(5C) and lower than 110F (44C). Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 can be applied in temperatures below 40F as long as the concrete is not frozen and does not have frost on it.·
Positive ventilation for interior applications can be continuously supplied throughout application period and 8 hours after.·
Open fires and spark producing equipment are not, and will not be, in application area until vapors have dissipated.
Application :
Epoxy.com PRODUCT #888 PRIMER may be applied to clean, dirt free, frost free, surfaces at a coverage rate of 250-350 sq. ft. per gallon. Do not apply to frozen concrete or to concrete with standing or visible water. Do not use during precipitous weather.
Do not apply on wet surfaces or when rain is imminent, or when the surface may become wet prior to a full cure. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid contamination with water, make sure all application equipment is completely dry.
For use in constant submersion, the recommended thickness must be achieved in one day with as many coats as needed. On vertical surfaces at least two coats will be required to achieve a minimum of 60 dry mils.
Recoating must be done before first coat firms, but it must be done within 24 hours. If Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 has cured more than 24 hours, the surface must be roughened up and primed before reapplying.
Epoxy.com PRODUCT #419 may be used in a single 60 mil application over sound surfaces without danger of gassing. Application must be made uniformly to avoid thin spots and care must be taken to avoid pinholes and repair them should they occur. Coverage to obtain 60 dry mils is 24 sq. ft./gallon. Protection board must be used prior to backfilling or pouring concrete.
