EpoxySystems Product #450 is an elastomeric coating system which provides a waterproof, foot traffic bearing deck coating, based on polyurethane elastomers.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Composition:
Liquid-applied, single-component, moisture-cured, polyurethane deck covering system. All materials shall be delivered to the jobsite in unopened containers clearly marked and labeled. System consists of EpoxySystems' Product #415 base coat, EpoxySystems' Product #416 top coat, a primer where necessary and an aggregate, if desired.

Basic Uses:
EpoxySystems' Product #450 system provides a waterproof, elastomeric, traffic bearing deck coating. It is a monolithic system that incorporates excellent adhesion, flexibility, impact, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. Petroleum products or cooling tower water spillage have little or no effect on the coating. Physical stresses imposed by vibration of equipment will not cause delamination or rupture of the coating. The elastic properties of all system components enable the complete system to give and work with all but the most unusual movement of the floor or deck.

Limitations:
Containers that have been opened must be used up within one or two days since it is a moisture-reactive material. It sets up when exposed to air. All surfaces must be completely free of foreign matter, and primed with EpoxySystems' Product #890 Primer where necessary. The finished coating system should not be subjected to direct heat radiation over 250° F from burners, open f lames or pipes. Baffles or heat shields should be installed, by others, where necessary.

Colors:

The top-coatings for this system are available in many colors

Sizes:
Available in 1 gallon cans, 5-gallon pails and 55 gallon drums. Weighs 10 lbs. per gallon.

INSTALLATION
Surface Preparation:
All surfaces which are to receive EpoxySystems Product #450 shall be free of contamination such as water, curing compounds, hardeners, bond-breakers, paint, etc. A light broom-finish is recommended for concrete surfaces. It is desirable to water-cure concrete in lieu of curing compounds. Contaminants should be re-moved by sandblasting or acid-etching. If etching is used, allow adequate time for surface to dry. Except for non-moving shrinkage cracks, all other cracks and joints must be sealed with EpoxySystems' Product #910, a single-component, moisture-cured sealant manufactured by Epoxy Systems, Inc. All surfaces must be primed with EpoxySystems' Product #889 Primer prior to application of the coating system at a rate of 300-350 square feet per gallon, except for plywood in good condition.

Application:
EpoxySystems' Product #415 shall be applied to the primed surface at a rate of 45 square feet per gallon resulting in a 30 dry mil thickness. After a minimum cure time of 24 hours, EpoxySystems' Product #416 shall be applied at the rate of 125 feet per gallon, resulting in a 10 dry mil thickness. The aggregate (No. 20 mesh) is broadcast into the EpoxySystems' Product #451 membrane at the desired rate, if any is needed. The completed coating system shall not be subject to any pedestrian traffic during the first 24 hours after application, nor to any heavy traffic of pedestrians during the first four days after application.

PRODUCT WARRANTY
All products proven to be defective in manufacture will be replaced at no charge. Since the use of these products is beyond our control we cannot accept damage in excess of the purchase price of these products.

MAINTENANCE
If EpoxySystems Product #450 is damaged, it can be re-paired by cleaning the surface with M.E.K. and recoating it with EpoxySystems Product #450 system.
