USESUse Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1004 Self-Leveling Floor Topping as an architectural floor topping for a variety of floor finishes; such as: tiles coatings, carpeting, rubber and vinyl sheeting, requiring a smooth substrate.
SURFACE PREPARATIONCONCRETE SURFACEConcrete surfaces to receive Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1004 Self-Leveling Floor Topping shall be cleaned to remove dirt, curing compounds, existing coatings or laitance to provide a clean, sound bonding surface. Cleaning may be accomplished with Epoxy.com Masonry Cleaner and water blasting, acid etching and water blasting, sandblasting, or other methods that would achieve a similar result. PRIMINGPrime the surface with Epoxy.com Product #825 Floor Sealer prior to placement of the topping or repair. The advantage of a primer is to prevent air release from the subfloor rising and forming bubbles and pinholes on the surface of the Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1004 Self-Leveling Floor Topping. The prime coat is mixed at a ratio of (1) gallon (3.79L) Epoxy.com#825 Floor Sealer with (2) gallons (7.57 L) clean potable water and spread by brush or roller at a rate of 200-300 square feet (18.58 m2 -27.87 m2) per gallon. Apply topping material while Epoxy.com #825 Floor Sealer is tacky. If the prime coat dries prior to the placement of the Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1004 Self-Leveling Floor Topping, apply a second coat of primer. MIXINGMixing should be accomplished with a slow speed drill and Epoxy.com Mixing Paddle. Each 55 lb (24.95 Kilo) bag of Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1004 Self-Leveling Floor Topping requires the addition of 6.8 to 7.25 quarts (217 - 232 oz.) (6.44 - 6.44 L) of cool, clean water to produce a free flowing, self-leveling consistency. Measure out water and add to mixing container. Add Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1004 Powder while mixing. Mix the material for three minutes. When using drill type mixer, keep the mixing head well down in the liquid to avoid any entrapment of air. Do not mix for more than five minutes. For thickness over 1/2", Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1004 Self-Leveling Floor Topping can be extended with Epoxy.com Product #75 Filler in equal portions. Do not add extra water. APPLICATIONPour mixed material onto primed substrate and spread with squeegee or trowel and allow to self-level. Any high spots can be pared off with the edge of a trowel after initial set. The required thickness must be achieved in one application. For best results, pouring and leveling should be continuous until area is completely leveled.
