Question About Surface Preparation of Epoxy.com Products
Surface Preparation - The First Step to the Highest Quality Epoxy Installation
Surface preparation is the first step to a quality installation of any construction mortar or coating. Surface preparation is
especially important with all high end products including Epoxy.com Construction Resins. If you do not prepare the surface correctly you will
not be taking full advantage of the Epoxy.com Products bond strength or durability.
Below are some of the questions that have been emailed to Norm Lambert at

Can I install Epoxy Seamless Flooring Over Linoleum?
Q: "I have an application for a seamless floor. Current
floor is industrial
linoleum tile which is strongly adhered. Is Epoxy.com
Product #15
suitable to be applied directly overtop
linoleum? "
Norm Lambert: I never recommend going over
linoleum Epoxy.com
with
Product #15
or any other seamless flooring material, made Epoxy.com or anyone
else. First of all it will need extensive surface
preparation, but most importantly if the tile comes up so does your
Epoxy.com Product #15
Seamless Epoxy Flooring. If it is concrete
under the tile, I recommend removal of the tile, removal of the mastic, and
cleaning of the concrete.
If the installation of Epoxy.com Product #15
Seamless Epoxy Flooring was over wood you may want to consider a new plywood overlay. If you
can handle the height you can install 1/2 inch plywood directly over the
tile. If height is an issue
you will want to remove the floor down to the floor joists and reinstall 3/4
inch AC plywood. See
Epoxy.com Surface Preparation
Guide for more details.
